Fake Government Website in Bengal A fake website was found to have been created in the name of the health recruitment board, about which senior health department officials were still in the dark. The health department has lodged a complaint with the cyber crime department and also initiated a departmental inquiry in this regard. The website, which has been online for a while, features photographs of minister of state for health, Mrs Chandrima Bhattacharya and Mr Madan Mitra, sports and transport minister. On the website, it was stated that there are around 1,326 vacant posts of doctors, nurses and group D staff members who would be recruited soon by the health recruitment board. The cyber crime department has started an investigation in this matter to nab those who are involved. Health department officials suspect that the motive behind the creation of the fake website could be to dupe candidates for medical courses. The website of the health department is wbhealth.gov.in whereas the website in question is wbhs.in. The latter website is registered in the name of one Roshni Praween and the “West Bengal Housing Society”, with Jalpaiguri as the registrant city. Dr Biswaranjan Satpathi, director of Health Services said: “The matter came to our notice yesterday. We have informed the cyber crime department and a complaint has also been lodged. A departmental inquiry has been initiated.” Many such websites are still there so please verify the website before you take info form them or give them your info.
