Fallout from Tukurs Resignation Part One Tukur may have gone - TopicsExpress

Fallout from Tukurs Resignation Part One Tukur may have gone but all is not well. At what cost did Tukur have to leave and who were the Principal actors behind his removal? LVIT can now since reveal the intricate web of power play, deceit and intrigues that came to play in the saga. Governor Akpabio turned out to be the arrow head behind the confusion that has engulfed the PDP in the last one year. He perceived Gov. Amaechi as his rival and labelled him, among others as Judas! His ambition to be Vice President to a northerner has never been in doubt. In entertaining that inordinate ambition, he failed to take into account the geo-political imperatives of Nigerian politics. Akpabio believes that what money cannot do, more money can do it. A South-South President is already in place, some would say, by default but that is the situation we find ourselves. How on earth would Nigeria accept another South South Vice President in the circumstance? How about the South-East? Dont they have Vice Presidential materials there? This is very unlike Igbos, not to fight for their rights. Is Akpabio one of them, as some would say? Or is it a question of Money and more money doing the trick this time? Questions and more questions. Akpabio has been on this script for a long time. He will not deviate. In recent times, he hosted a meeting of PDP Governors in Akwa Ibom Governors Lodge, Abuja in which meeting, the plan was fine-tuned to disgrace Tukur out of office. What did Tukur ever do to deserve this from Akpabio and his colleagues? LVIT can now reveal that Akpabio was able to railroad his colleagues into believing that the reasons were altruistic. Far from it! Akpabio has always been jittery about Umana Okon Umanas insistence on vying for the governorship of Akwa Ibom State inspite of Akpabios persuasions to the contrary. Umana was known to be very close to Tukur working very hard to bring peace/unity back to the party. This sent jitters through Akpabios spine. Akpabios gifts to Tukur were regularly rebuffed. Akpabios discomfort with Tukurs relationship with his erstwhile Secretary to Government and the implications for the 2015 Governorship bid was bound to create the friction that eventually led to Tukurs demise. Akpabio has since the announcement of Tukurs resignation been partying in Abuja and gloating that the current situation would pave the way for him to assert himself as the Godfather of the party. As a build up to the resignation, Security agents and LVIT agents discovered that Akpabio had loaded his plane with $15 million (about N3 billion); an amount of money not even available to some State Governments per month. He distributed that much of Akwa Ibom State money on this ego trip and without any compunction! What manner of person would be so obsessed with capturing the Governorship of the State and at what cost? Critics are quick to point out that in spite of over 3 Trillion Naira made available to the Akwa Ibom State Government since 2007, Akpabio cannot justify more than 500 Billion Naira! Where is the rest? LVIT is commissioned by: uwem sam los angeles. The views of Uwem Sam, arent our view, but we believe in information dissemination.
