Families of two armed robbers want justice after an armed citizen - TopicsExpress

Families of two armed robbers want justice after an armed citizen fought back against the pair of masked robbers, shooting and killing both of them. The two suspects had robbed Krick’s Korner Market, a convenience store which had the target of robberies in the past. The concealed carrier, described by police as a concerned citizen, confronted the men as they exited the store. The suspects drew their guns on the citizen. He responded by drawing his own, firing two shots (according to witnesses) and struck both suspects in the chest (abclocal.go/wpvi/story?section=news%2Flocal&id=9312800) The concealed carrying citizen, who is being hailed as a hero by local residents and politicians now faces accusations by the suspect’s families that he “took the law into his own hands.” Of course, the families are describing the suspects as “hard working family men” who weren’t hardened criminals... Its not fair, said Virginia Medina, mother of 24-year-old William Medina, who police said robbed Kricks Korner store alongside 18-year-old Robert De Carr. The two men were shot and killed by a private citizen while leaving the store, and family members want to see charges pressed. [William] had no right to lose his life over something that man could have called the police for, said Medina. He took the law into his own hands and walked away scot-free. Heres a brilliant idea: DONT COMMIT ARMED ROBBERY.
