Family, I was sitting here thinking of this master piece put together by his nephew a few years ago. Its always good to know history, family history. I was thinking about how our family dont see color as others do many times. While working with the NAACP, I saw duty, obligation to stand for all people. When one think of civil rights people usual think of black / white, but for learning the word Color and the true meaning of it in the word National association For The Afvancement Of Color People, the white lady who started the group had in mind people of color, all colors. When I think about public Safety, I think about a debate I had with a Dr. Morgan in constitutional law. It was about the blood of Jesus which over shines any law that. Human cant change. I know some change will come from in prisons walls and some outside, but change can happen. We were talking about Oth of honor and you cant see color under the law Enforcement oath of Honor. As I looked at Gene Martin, it touched my soul thinking back to my great grand father William j. Scott and how he worked across color lines to see no color. My other great grand father G. a Felter could not be buried in a white Cemetary this is why we have a family Cemetary on Ivey Rd, Mableton, GA. I was thinking about how so many people have fought the up building of our family, because we would not take sides aganist any race of people. I was thinking I was in Loganville meeting with a klansmen who did convert over to Christ. He killed black people but once He accepted Christ, it was a new beginning for him. I met with David Dukes head of the Knights of Colunbus, another Dr in Cobb over the knights of Columbus. Yet, I remember Gene Martin our cousin and the first time I saw him and the first time I knew who white people were at an AA A revival. I was 6 or 7 and I remember the tent at the fair ground on university Ave. Im glad I learned in church during civil rights time Jesus. I am so honored to be a cousin to a man who was really first to sing among white people and someone knew to document the history for you who are learning who paved the way. Most of all, Im glad to know where our roots comes from accepting people as people regardless of color. God has an assignment for all of us, our family is so mixed in all colors and I love it, because when we get to heaven we will be a spirit. Back then I had no ideal why Gene was singing with all of these white people and such a healing came forth to day at 60, and after much learning I know now why I joined the Jesus train loving people. Thank You Gene
