Family Resource Educator – Part Time (Ferryland) The Kilbride to Ferryland Family Resource Coalition is looking for an energetic, highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to fill the position of Family Resource Educator for the Ferryland Family Resource Centre. The Family Resource Educator will work directly with children and families in facilitating programs and in providing support and guidance. He/she will plan and implement developmentally appropriate enrichment for children and engage parents with their children in a positive manner. This person must display a proven ability to work in a team approach with parents, children and community groups. Qualifications: Post secondary training in Early Childhood Education, child psychology or one of the social sciences or a combination of related training or experience. An understanding of child development, child health and safety, positive parenting and school readiness is an asset. Experience working with children 0-6 and their parents in an early childhood/family center atmosphere is essential. Flexible hours will be required. The successful candidate must provide a Police Records Check with Vulnerability Sector Check, First Aid and child CPR certification, as well as sign an Oath of Confidentiality with the Employer. Access to a vehicle and travel within the region is required. This is a part time position of 17.5 hours per week (subject to a six month probationary period) at a pay rate of $15.00 to $16.00 per hour.
