Family and friends do not seem to believe me when I say that I will resist the urge to shop in Dubai. And each one has placed an order of a gadget, a scent, even ear phones. They will all be disappointed on my return. The images of Dubai are breathtaking. It comes across as a city where if you can dream it, you can make it happen. As long as you have the money I imagine. I was doing a head count of my friends who had made the great trek to Dubai, and I stopped counting at 20. And I am looking forward to catching up with the few I will be able to see on this trip. I am going to Dubai to eat. Yes, you read correct. The primary purpose of this trip is to sample the food that this city of over 200 nationals has to offer. One never imagines Dubai as a cullinary destination. You imagine a dynamic business centre and a tourist delight. You imagine a shopping Mecca. And you imagine the hot weather. Never food. No doubt this trip will correct this over sight.
