Fan share This is not a question but its just something I want to share. Im from gorey and dont spend a lot of time in Wexford town but today I was in Dunnes stores and Im so glad I was. I was with my daughter Anna who is 10 and has severe autism which affects her speech as well as mentally. We went to the checkout where we were served by a absolutely stunning looking girl named Mellissa. She was very friendly and asked Anna what santy was bringing. Most of the time when people realise Annas disability they tend to avoid conversation but mellissa continued talking to Anna even though it was probably so difficult to understand what she was saying and my daughter could not stop smiling. She was mesmerised. I was purchasing a dress Anna for christmas and realised I had picked it up in the wrong size. I had a many bags in my hand so kindly mellissa said she would run and grab another one from the store. Anna asked to go with her. I began telling Anna to stay with me but Mellissa reached out her hand and said to Anna to come help her. Theres not many people around that even bother with children with autism but mellissa was just so sweet and made Anna feel as though they were best friends. I waited at the checkout and they came back minutes later and Anna was beaming! Anna mumbled something about the bracelets mellissa was wearing. She was wearing a set of pink and white bracelets and asked Anna if she liked them, whilst Anna nodded and giggled, mellissa took off one pink one handed it to Anna and told her itll go with her new dress. Well my word I was stunned. Such a simple thing but so generous. Honestly my daughter has been smiling all day ever since. Its the small things that make me appreciate life and good people. I just wanted to post this here so maybe other will remember to be generous this christmas season and all year round xx
