Farming is artificial food security. It displaces - TopicsExpress

Farming is artificial food security. It displaces hunter-gatherers, encourages deforestation through slash-and-burn, damages soil, and causes water pollution through agricultural run-off. Many of the cereal grains that are farmed worldwide contain a high concentration of glucose. This abundance of glucose has contributed to a global epidemic of cancer and diabetes. Glucose feeds cancer cells and is theorized to cause insulin resistance. Many believe that we need farming to feed our ever growing population of 7 billion. This is false though. Global food security can be achieved naturally through permaculture, forest gardening, artisan fishing, and hunting. Farming has led to a high quantity of humans on the planet but a low quality of human health. We can sustain our current population and improve our health at the same time if we abandon farming.
