“Father, if you are willing, take this cup away from me. Yet not - TopicsExpress

“Father, if you are willing, take this cup away from me. Yet not my will but yours be done... And being in an agony Jesus prayed more earnestly; and his sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground. Luke 22:42, 44 We should all be thankful that Jesus actions were not based on how He felt but in obedience to the will of His Father. We should take our cue from Jesus. Agonizing about what He was about to go through, He submitted Himself to Gods will. And because He was in agony, He prayed. More earnestly. Over and over. Believers comfort and direction lie not in how we feel but in the plan and purpose He has already revealed to us in His Word. And we run to His Presence. Listen, God! Please, pay attention! Can you make sense of these ramblings, my groans and cries? King-God, I need your help. Every morning you’ll hear me at it again. Every morning I lay out the pieces of my life on your altar and watch for fire to descend (Psalm 5:1-3, MSG).
