Fear can sometimes be a terrible thing. It can paralyze you and - TopicsExpress

Fear can sometimes be a terrible thing. It can paralyze you and cause you to not move forward, it can make problems bigger than what they are, and it can be the catalyst for causing long term physical and psychological damage. When this fear is then transferred to someone else, for example a child, you could potentially be robbing them from experiencing some great things or even worse, setting them up to turn that fear into hatred. I havent spoken much about Ferguson because it angers me so much, but I believe what took place and what takes place is based on fear. I hate the fact that I will have to teach my children some day that some people might not like them or trust them because of the color of their skin or because of what race their parents are. The clip below stuck out to me because of the attitudes of the two women near the end of the video. It made me wonder, What fears did they project on their children? And what is the impact or result today? I also wondered about the other people in the clip. These women were vocal and honest about how they felt, but what about the others? I dont really know how to end this rant, but I just want to thank my family and friends who have accepted me and my tri-racial family with open arms.
