Feature Friday: WaterShed LLC, Salem, Oregon Whether you are bracing against a wall of sea spray in a ship out to sea, or wading through the storm surge of a hurricane, WaterShed strives to keep you dry. In addition to the fireproof suits we featured from Globe Manufacturing this week, WaterShed LLC of Salem, Ore. creates waterproof raingear to protect people from the elements. The business started in 1984, originally to keep the citizens of rainy Oregon dry because the overseas outerwear quality wasn’t cutting it in the rugged Northwest. The company saw an opportunity to also outfit industrial and public service workers, including law enforcement, military, fire and EMS professionals. WaterShed is a second-generation family-owned business with 45 employees and supports the local economy by providing jobs and fair wages. All materials are U.S.-sourced. Recently WaterShed collaborated with the Future Farmers of America to create custom outerwear for its members and prides itself on excellent custom creations and services.
