Featured Deltasig Summer Profile: Christy Chang Year: Junior Majors: Finance, Legal Studies Minor: Spanish Internship: Analyst Intern Company: Lexvia Location: Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, India What do you do? I report directly to and work closely with the CEO and senior management of the US and India operations divisions of the company. So far, I have led projects in trend-analysis and forecasting within the company’s internal structure, and I have most recently developed a Standard Operating Procedure and Protocol for a high value task that is now being used company-wide for one of our largest clients in New York. On a day-to-day basis I have also migrated processes from law firm offices in New York and assisted with quality management processes. I also conduct HR functions, including recruitment and interviews. What has been the coolest part of your internship? Our company took us to the Kanha National Park and Tiger Reserve where my fellow interns and I stayed for a weekend and went on safaris to see the wildlife in the Indian jungle. We got to see two tigers! Any other interesting facts? One of the clients I have worked extensively for during my time here is the lead representation of Costa Concordia plaintiffs against Carnival Corp. The suits filed by our client seek at least $2 million in compensation per passenger and $590 million in punitive damages for maritime negligence and gross negligence. What do you miss most about Bloomington? I miss absolutely everything about Bloomington, but I could really go for a Bub’s burger right now. There are a lot of vegetarians in India so most meals are vegetarian, and cows are sacred.
