Features of Weak password 1. Easy to guess: Some people use password like their date of birth, mobile number or their nick name like hackyogi . Hackers can easily guess these kinds of password using social engineering and other basic techniques. 2. Seldom changed: There are some users which doesn’t change the password at all for a long period of time. This practice of not changing the password time to time make system vulnerable. 3. Reused for many security points: If you use same user ID and password on multiple sites like same set of ID and password for Facebook and your Bank account. Then you might get into trouble. Also in a network if you choose same set of password at all stages then it is too risky. It is like choosing the same lock and key for all the gates. 4. Written down in unsecure places: Some people choose password very hard (it’s a good practice) but cann’t remember them at all and write them some places like in a diary or file saved in computer. This is too risky to write down password details at any place. You should choose the password which is easy to remember as well as hard to crack. 5. commonly used password: There are list of commonly used password like ‘password’, ’123456′, ’12345678′,’jesus’ etc. Try to avoid these common password to avoid vulnerability in your system. 6. Save the password in browser: We almost all made a common mistake to save the password in browser.
