Feb. 3rd - Hearing words that have Life - Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life. John 6:68 The word of God cleanses our spiritual anatomy. The words that we hear God speak activate His presence and power inside us. Spoken words have power. The power of life and death is in the tongue. We live by the words or fruit that come from our mouth. Words that we hear have the power of life and words that we speak can cause death. We must pay attention to the words that we hear, including those that come from our own mouth. Following the great miracle of feeding thousands with fish and loaves, in our lesson study Jesus begins speaking to the audience about life. He wants them to discover that there is more to life than physical bread. He wants to introduce them to living bread and He does not want their experience with Him to be limited to eating bread that can be consumed and devoured in a moment. He wants to give them bread that will provide a constant, spiritual feast that will last forever. Jesus talks about living bread as an illustration of eternal life. He challenges the audience to see Him as the eternal bread of life. He wants to become more to them than bread that they devour to satisfy their immediate need; He wants them to consume Him and the life that He offers taking in His words so that He will become a permanent part of who they are for the rest of their life. When He speaks of eating of His flesh and drinking His blood, He uses this analogy as a metaphor to illustrate fully taking in His words as the words of life. After He makes the offer, by the hundreds those in the listening audience began to walk away from Him. Share your thoughts and check out the new website click the link below... lifepoint4.me
