Feedback on Officeholder Committees The L.A. City Ethics Commission is currently reviewing the City’s campaign finance laws, and would like to hear from you regarding City officeholder committees and legal defense committees. These committees allow elected City officers to communicate with constituents, ensure efficient City services, and pay for legal costs associated with running for and holding City office. They would like to hear your perspective on ways to improve these laws, which can be found on the Ethics Commissions website. (ethics.lacity.org/laws.cfm) Your comments are extremely valuable and will help the Ethics Commission shape these important laws. Comments can be emailed to [email protected] and will be most helpful if they are received by May 23, 2014. Recommendations will be presented at the Commissions next regular meeting on June 12, 2014.
