Feeling BLESSED ~ Feeling BLISS ~ this has been a beautiful day since I woke and headed to Unison to chant the tension away. Coming back across the bridge the river never looked so beautiful to me. In that moment an amazing human being that I hold deep within my heart reached out to acknowledge the beauty of this day. I then head to the flea market to shop for some girlfriends..... it is soooooo much fun to spend other peoples money!!!! I then wander to the last booth and look at some rings and singing bowls. Two young men are vendoring . One comes over and touches my newest lotus on my arm by the beautiful and amazing Tanya Pinky Pineda. He asks if its an actual tattoo not henna....... and so our 40 minute beautiful conversation begins. These two young men are Tibetan refugees that had to go to India to survive. There mom is a teacher at a refugee school where the children live for 10 months. They go home for two months because they can not heat the school in the winter. These brothers came to America to do better. They appreciate every opportunity they can have here if they are willing to work hard, which is something that comes easy to them. It was amazing to hear the gratitude~ the soul speak~ the beauty of who they are. I cried and laughed and felt my heart open a little wider. We do not know the hardships that others face. We take our ease for granted...... even our struggle is ease compared to what they have known in this life time. I wish everyone could have heard this conversation~ perhaps we would allfind more compassion in your heart for those who live differently from us. This man (27) said if we took the time to talk to each other and really hear what each of us is going through perhaps we wouldnt be so fast to judge. He was surprised at how unwilling people are to talk to people they dont know. We spoke of our souls~ of the beauty to be alive~ gratitude. He loves the freedom we have here. Not about stuff~ but core freedoms that have been taken away from the Tibetan people. He is not allowed to fully do so in Tibet. It was intense~ real~ beautiful~ a blessing. He loved my tattoo Tanya~ he shared the meaning of the lotus and I shared why I needed this piece/peace. He showed me his bamboo tattoo~ meaning tapped with bamboo. I bought two rings he would only let me pay for one. I will cherish them always!!!! Truly a day that makes me glad to be human.
