Feeling Tired Lately? Try These Kidney Detox Juices Some of the body’s main detoxifying systems are the liver, colon and kidneys (and you can read more about them in my previous article 6 ways your body detoxifies itself). These organs are responsible for filtering the blood and removing toxic wastes from the body. They need to process a very high load of toxins – we ingest, inhale, absorb them with almost every step, with every meal, every breath. So you want to make sure your ‘detox trio’ is nurtured, and in good shape. Kidneys work hard to keep you in balance. When they function at an optimal level, it shows in the way you look and feel: your skin is clear, your weight is better managed and you are feeling energetic and healthy. By experiencing some of these symptoms, your body is telling you that it is time to take a period of rest and press the reset button. Some form of a body cleanse might be a step in the right direction. The idea is not new.
