Felix Update- Hes being released from the NICU and returning to the newborn nursery. Today they released his shortened, attached frenulum. Theres supposed to be about 8 mm from the frenulum to the tip of the tongue. His was 2 mm. This allows him to feed correctly, which he wasnt doing previously. His blood sugar should stabilize with adequate available calories. He continues to become tachypneic while falling asleep, but then levels back out once asleep. Respiratory rate can get to over 100 for several minutes. (Actual reading, not taken by a Zoll). We are back on the high risk floor (not NICU), and should be home tomorrow.
