Fellas. I concur with this write up by Sola Kuti For all those who keep asking me how I can support GEJ and still want a better Nigeria in the same breath. Here is my answer: Really it is very simple for me. I dont believe in any way that GEJ is Nigerias main problem just as i dont believe he is the solution. I think our main problem is ourselves. Yes you and me. We are the civil servants who loot the treasury. We are the politicians who steal the country blind. We are the legislators who make laws to condone child abuse and receive fat salaries. We are the policemen who collect bribes and prey on the weak. We are the judges who jail a man for stealing a phone in 2 weeks but spend 10 years listening to the case of a governor who stole N500bn. We are the pastors who use church donations to buy luxury suvs and jets. We are even the terrorists and sponsors of terrorism who support the slaughtering of young boys and abduction of women and children. We are the citizens who support rape because she wore a short skirt or lynching because he stole a chicken. It is you and I. Our parents, our uncles, family and friends, church leaders. If we all did our duties to this nation well, we would not be in the mess we are in today. I rate leaders based on the fundamental things and I think that GEJ has done many critical things right. Most critical for me is that he has allowed democracy and the rule of law to flourish. For me that is key and it is what I admired most about Yaradua too. He was a decent man who was said not to be corrupt, but under his watch, the most outrageous runway contract was awarded as was the Abuja Lokoja expressway. GEJ has kept his cool quite well, when I see the type of emotional outbursts and abuses on social media on 3rd party issues, the way we defend people who have never heard of us. I wonder what some of us would do in a position of authority if we were abused. I personally dont need any strong leader for me not to be corrupt. I dont need anyone to teach me about discipline and dignity. I know good from bad, right from wrong, as do all of us. I dont believe GEJ is our Obama or Clinton, I dont believe he would have ever run for president on his own.....but he got here by sheer providence. As such it may not be a perfect fit. But I like what I see. Today governors are leaving the PDP because they lost primary elections or lost out in the power game. GEJs ministers save Wike all lost their primary elections. Incredible. Little things like this give me hope. In many other parties, one or two men just dictated lists of candidates and it was done without any protest. The disgruntled grumbled and muttered under their breath. They have accepted their fate. Are these the people who want to mentor a new generation? GEJs govt has also made some effort in many areas. I will let the campaign people tell you all of that in the days ahead. Yes there are some issues as well. Terrorism has been a big downer for me. But I keep saying this in life you must make a decision based on what is right and just and not on what is popular. Now GEJ is not our eloquent suave leader, but I believe he is the best route to achieving the type of leader we need...the one we can choose. GEJ has been so tolerant especially of the media that even I wonder if he does not have an idea of the type of slandering that goes on. Buhari did not lock up journalists because the law allowed him to. He did it because he needed to keep them quiet. He could not stand dissent or opposing opinions. That was his mentality and from our experience of the OBJ years, we should realise that even in a democracy, such is still possible. So for me and my household, we stand with the weak. They have their flaws but I would rather spend the next four years making steady progress than spend it in fear and suppression. So I say 4 more years to stabilize our politics and economy and then we can really settle down to choose a NEW leader. On #GEJ I stand till 2019. #OSFA #GetInvolved #TakeBackNigeria
