Fellow Royals Regimental Headquarters has recently received sad news of the passing of a proud and long-standing member of our Regimental family. Master Corporal Ron E. Howard, CD (Ret’d) of Peterborough County, Ontario passed away on 04 October 2014. He was 79 years of age. Ron Howard served with 1st Battalion The Royal Canadian Regiment for 33 years. Following retirement he maintained his ties with the Regiment as a member of The RCR Association. Funeral services and interment have taken place. Please see Mr. Howard’s obituary immediately below. Peterborough County Website HOWARD, Ron Sr., (C.D.) - Peacefully began his journey back to the creator on Saturday, October 4th, 2014 in his 80th year. Loving long-time companion of Evelyn Duncan. Beloved father of Myla Bonner (Jim), Ken Edwards (Trina), Ron Jr. (Tina), Timmy Duncan (Toni), Lorne Duncan and Theresa-Jane Holden (Keith). Cherished grandfather of 10 and great-grandfather of 6. Uncle Ron will be fondly remembered by his nephew Bill Howard Jr. and his niece Judy Ratchford. Arrangements out of Peterborough. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8th from 1 - 3 p.m. at HIAWATHA UNITED CHURCH, 126 Paudash Street, Hiawatha First Nation. Interment to take place at 3 p.m. at Hiawatha First Nation Cemetery. In memory of Ron, donations to the Salvation Army would be appreciated.
