Fellow friends of X, please take heed... Hello, yes me again spruiking for the cause! So, something to remember. As serious as the subject matter is, the gig will be just like, but unlike any other gig, only better!! It is about celebrating the fact that you, me, everyone from the roadies to the artists will be there to put on a great show. That we are effecting change by being there. There will be some talk, but we are there to entertain not browbeat anyone into submission! All the heavy stuff happens here, on the home site while trying to raise social awareness about the Child Wise organisation and the goals that are clearly defined in their own mission statement. At times I wonder at my own foolish ego, allowing me to think I could make people care, but for every doubt I have ever had ten, twenty people or more will tell me at any given time, to trust myself and the people (yes you) and - to believe in the cause and the public conscience - to rise to every challenge - to have faith. I get called a legend and a great man a saint... all kinds of wonderful comments and as much as Id like to believe those kind words, really I am not. I am just a guy that played in a handful of bands. No top 40 hits, no gold records, but somehow I have built a reputation for integrity and honesty among my peers. Those qualities mean nothing if I cannot use them constructively. I started out to do this benefit to demonstrate what could be done if any man or woman believed in something enough to make a stand. To draw that line in the sand and say This has got to stop. Abuse is an unnecessary evil in any civilised country. Our children are our future - and by our children I mean all children. You may not have a child yourself but you may have nieces and nephews, grandchildren Maybe youre a god parent... Believe you can make a difference and from that moment on you will have the power to do so. You can prevent this. The simple choice is as to when you will start. You have the power in you open you heart and extend your hand.
