Fellow home cooks, can you help? I have a love/hate relationship with my cast iron skillet. I love the delicious food I can make with perfect crispness or sear. I hate that I worry about food contamination because soap is a no-no. What do you do to clean your skillet to ensure you maintain seasoning but dont risk contamination, particularly after using it for meat? How much fat/residue is okay to remain on the skillet?
