#TrainerTipTuesday Were going to try doing a Dumbbell Pullover using a Stability Ball. The Dumbbell Pullover is a good upper body exercise and can be used in either a chest or back routine. Using the Stability Ball adds a balance factor which will help to engage the core during the exercise. 1) After sitting down on a stability ball with a dumbbell in your hands, roll your body out towards your feet so that you are lying with your back flat on the stability ball. Make sure that you also have the back of your head and neck resting on the stability ball. Bring the dumbbell up over your body so that you are holding it with both palms up around the dumbbell. Start with the dumbbell with your arms stretched out above your upper chest and below the chin. The higher you keep your hips during this exercise, the more you engage your core. 2) Lower the dumbbell out and over your head until you feel a stretch in your upper back and shoulders. That end position is usually just before your arms are in line with the rest of your body. Make sure to keep a slight, fixed bend at the elbows as you lower the weight. 3) Use your upper back to bring the dumbbell back into position over your head and chest. Again, make sure to keep a fixed bend at the elbows, and not to bend the arms too much as they will take over the movement, thereby taking the focus off of the back and chest. 4) Repeat Steps (1) – (3) for 12-16 repetitions and for about 3-4 sets. #CCF #CharmCityFitness #Citysweat
