Felt lucky to watch another sunset tonight. I got hit by a car at Kaloko Honokohau National Park this morning. Im totally ok other than a tweaked knee that will heal and bike seems to be ok other than some extra scuffs. Scared the living daylights out me and Im sure Tom Solis too who was right behind me. A guy in a black mustang rent a car was making a left turn into the park. I hit his front/side passenger bumper. He said he did not see us and I believe him... he wasnt looking close enough. He said he was wasting some time before catching his flight and going to drink his coffee there in the lot. At first I thought he trying to drive away and I went after him and said some very choice words that I probably shouldnt have and then some other things but the fear and adrenaline got the best of me. I did get a grip and we left on better terms. He will at least be paying some damage fees for his scuffed up damaged bumper when he drops off the car. You cannot pay attention enough out there. I did take a moment this afternoon gazing out to the beautiful ocean feeling thankful.
