Femoroacetabular impingement. An official diagnosis from my rock star physical therapist and it explains so much. Like how certain (internally hip rotated) yoga poses are nearly impossible/highly uncomfortable for me because of how my bones fit together. NOT because I dont work hard enough/not brave enough/not disciplined enough/not dedicated enough, as a teacher or two may have intoned in the past. After muttering a quick f-you to those teachers in my mind, I am excited to learn better ways to move and practice and TEACH that will respect the body we were born with. Amen and hallelujah.
