Ferro Rod Scraper Solution I think Ive found a decent cost effective solution for a Ferro Rod Scraper, but only time will tell after much use under varying conditions (extreme heat, cold, etc...). Its a Hyde #3 Square Knife. They retail at $6.64, come with a wooden handle, feel nice and sturdy and is Made In The USA. How does it perform? Well, it performs as least as well as my beloved $1. Home Depot scissors half and showers sparks on tinder. The handle and length of blade gives you some options in moving your grip around for the best approach at scraping the rod and the blade cleans up easy of any ferrocerium residue. Best of all, it leaves no ridges on the ferro rod and make a nice clean & consistent scrape. SPECS: -Hardened high carbon chrome vanadium steel blade, 17 gauge. -Ground and tempered to precise tolerances. -Smooth contoured hardwood handle. -Blade securely riveted & locked in place with strong nickel plated ferrule. -Dimensions: 3-1/2 x 3/4 x 0.058 MANUFACTURERS LINK: hydestore/hyde-tools-50200-regular-square-point-knife-3-wood-handle.html
