Fibromyalgia is difficult to diagnose and difficult to live with. If you have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia (also known as fibromyositis or myofacial pain syndrome) you may be eligible for social security disability benefits if: 1) you have a history of widespread pain that has lasted for a period of 3 months or more; 2) you have repeated reoccurences of at least six symptoms associated with fibromyalgia and; 3) on examination your doctor has found you positive for at least 11 out of 18 tender points. The doctor considers a tender point to be positive if a patient experiences any pain when applying a specific amount of pressure to a site. Find out if the pain you experience from having fibromylagia entitles you to disability benefits. Contact our office today for a free consultation at 410-744-5728.
