Fig leafs are often manifested in the form of defense mechanisms, which are designed to deflect and dodge the truth through highly refined tactics of evasion, equivocation, blame-shifting and buck-passing. Isn’t it amazing how creative we can become, on the spot, whenever it comes to the manufacturing of excuses? Ah, what Artful Dodgers we can be! But the most courageous thing any of us can do is to drop our defenses, accept what the Spirit reveals, and trust that the Lord has us covered. He really does, you know!
