Fiji FA mourns loss of senior VP The football fraternity is mourning the loss of Sheik Ibrahim- one of the senior executives of Fiji Football Association. The senior vice president died this afternoon at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital after being ill for sometime. He was 67-years-old. The retired head teacher was actively involved with football in the Northern Division over the last two decades and was also the chairman of the National League Board. Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel while confirming the news to FijiLive said it is a sad day for football in the country as they have lost a person who was always there and always giving his best to see the sport prosper. We announce the demise of Mr Sheik Ibrahim with a heavy heart and pray to god almighty to give courage and strength to his family in this tough time. We will be by their side in this mourning period and will try to support them in every possible way. He was a pillar of strength to many of us. He always led by example and we will always miss him. He was a hardworking, dedicated and a committed person who had the passion for football development and usually went out of his way to assist districts in the Northern Division, said Patel. Ibrahim will be buried at 5pm tomorrow in Labasa. Source : FijiLive
