Final Reminder: Wrestling NZ is calling for nominations for Cadet freestyle wrestlers (male & female) to attend the 2014 Oceania Championships in American Samoa from March 18-22. A team will be selected at this event to represent the Oceania Region in the Youth Olympic Games which are to be held in Nanjing, China from 16-28 August 2014. Although nominations are being called for, the reigning National Champions will have frontrunner spots and there would have to be a very good reason for challengers to gain a wrestle-off. Age Groups: Born in 1997 & 1998 (1999 with parental letter) Weight Groups: Male freestyle – 46, 54, 63, 76, 100; Female – 46, 52, 60, 70 The other freestyle weight groups will also take part in the Oceanias, but the winners will not qualify for YOG positions. Additional wrestlers will also be able to attend the Oceanias in the above weight groups, but only the nominated NZ wrestler is able to qualify for the YOG. Nominations are due in to the Director of Technical by 24th October.
