Finally. Election day. Lets go fire us some pols and reboot this country by sending in fresh blood....Oh, wait! We cant! We still only have party demagogues as candidates. So much for fresh blood and new ideas and options. Americas best days are ahead of her PROVIDED that we are willing to make some painful changes to our system of selecting our elected leaders. Starting a middle class INDEPENDENCE party that represents Main Street America and not extreme fringes would help tremendously. But it will never happen because the average American will not put up with the abusive, narcissistic mudslinging, petty, personal attacks on which the current two-party system thrives. So we sit it out and watch the modern equivalent of gladiatorial games, hypnotized by its brutality, inhumanity, arrogance and self-serving nature while at the same time decrying it as repugnant. Then we vote for the winner of that contest--which usually not the best performer--but the worst. The one who fought the dirtiest and most dastardly. If things are going to change politically, it starts with us voters being less hypocritical, more collective-minded, less self-serving and much more principled when we vote. In short--real change might or might never--happen--depending upon what we want to do. Change starts with US!!
