Finally I can share the past 48 amazing hours with my Facebook family. Tuesday morning I woke up thinking it would be an ordinary day boy was I wrong. You see while I was at work I received a delivery which contained a beautiful Lei from Hawaii with a note that said just sending a piece of Hawaii to my special mother, wish you were here! Xoxo love Chris. Feeling so blessed and loved, I was on cloud nine this mommas day was complete. But wait there, there is more to the story. My oldest son Cody is stationed in Hawaii and has been on deployment in Japan for the past six months and Chris had planned a trip to Hawaii to welcome him home. unfortunately I have not been able to make it to any of their homecomings to welcome them with open arms and it has always weighed heavy on my heart. Chris knew this and thus began months of secret planning, which included befriending my boss and contacting my sister. Okay back to the moments after receiving the Lei. Less than a half hour after I received the lei my boss called me into his office, had me sit down, pulled out an envelope and handed it to me. Inside contained several pieces of paper the first was a printed copy of an email message to my boss thanking him for helping plan my surprise followed by an itinerary for a trip to Hawaii leaving the next morning which had my name on it. Words can not express all the emotions in my heart at that moment, could this be, am I dreaming. I was then told to go home for the remainder of the day and start packing. So I went home and got ready for my trip which had to continue to remain quiet because not only was this a surprise for me but it was also for Cody who didnt know a thing. Yesterday morning my sweet Samantha (who by the way knew everything and was so excited for me) dropped me off at the airport and before the day was over I was in beautiful Hawaii with my dear Chris. Again thinking my day could not get any better, well at least until I was able to have both Chris and Cody by my side, Chris and I made our way through the airport making one stop so he could ask someone to take our picture however he was very selective about who he asked because you see there was still one more surprise awaiting me and that was my sister who he contacted months ago and asked if she could join us. As I sit here this am typing this update overlooking the beautiful waters of Hawaii I am reminded of how very blessed and honored I am to have the children I do, I do not deserve them and yet God still placed them in my life knowing the joy and encouragement they would bring me on a daily basis. I am so proud of the young men and women they are all becoming and am honored to be such a big part of their lives. Although I did nothing to deserve them I was chosen to be their mother and I thank God for them every day. Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him. (Psalms 127:3 NLT)
