Finally conquered the Reed and Benson ridge up Big Cottonwood - TopicsExpress

Finally conquered the Reed and Benson ridge up Big Cottonwood Canyon this weekend. While we were at it, we dropped the 200 near-cliff descent to the Reed and Benson mine and gave it a quick browse. Some passages we decided were too dangerous to continue exploring with the gear we had at the time, but a pretty neat mine overall. The Reed and Benson mine is one of the most difficult mines in the Wasatch Front to access due to its distance from roads, 3500 of steep elevation gain, and entire lack of trail the last mile of traversing. Always fun to see something that very few living people ever have.
