Finally feel as if my house is a place I can live happily! Removing the upstairs carpet got rid of the bad smell. Also had the basement carpet cleaned and deodorized. All upstairs walls have been washed with trisodium phosphate and most spackling is finished thanks to Autumn Woodruff, Jenny Ashurst, and Andrew Rekus. Stove now shows more enamel than grease. The hardwood floor was so bad, I gave up and hired a pro-- Elias Mansour. Also decided to hire Gonzalo Escobar of GE Painting and Renovation to fix and update the master bath while the house is empty. I hope to finish painting upstairs this weekend and then paint the basement next weekend while the hardwood flooring guys are sanding upstairs...now to sell my dressers on Craigslist and buy new ones that WILL fit into my bedroom!
