Finally passed the 1000 round mark (excl blanks) through the L85A2 this afternoon. Took long enough! First time shooting any rifle with irons in a good 2-3 years, luckily I was glad to discover Ive not lost the ability to use them things (was worried for a moment when the gun came through the armoury hatch and didnt have a SUSAT on). I almost feel embarrassed on behalf of all the raf reg gunners that I consistently beat every single time Im down on the range, especially when I often go many months at a time without even physically touching a rifle.
