Finally the book has arrived, I Know Bill Schaadt: Portrait of a Fly Fishing Legend. Ben Taylor published a beautiful book about the legendary fly fisherman Bill Schaadt. Available are Limited Editions and Standard Editions. The Limited Editions are signed and numbered by Ben, these cost $100 plus tax and shipping. Only 150 were printed and about half are gone. The Standard Edition is a hardcover book selling for $50 plus tax and shipping. Bill Schaadt was one of the most successful anglers, and one of the most unique individuals, that ever cast a line in Californias North Coast rivers. He was a legend long before he passed away in 1995, and anglers talk about him today as if he were still around the next bend. Now, in a beautiful tribute to this man, here is a book full of fascinating stories as told by 30 friends of Bill who knew him well and had fished with him. There are 195 pages and almost 100 pictures covering 40 of the years that Bill fished -- 1955 to 1995 were also the heyday years of steelhead and salmon fishing on the West Coast, and Bills passing may well have marked the end of that era.
