Well its that time again when we ROLL up on the WINTER NAMM show. I;m somewhat famous for The list of monthly excuses by month that all us vendors can relate to. Actually credit goes to all the great salesmen who with great levity have shared different ones with me and i just compiled them and have been using them for years in all my sales meeting. Here they are for all the road warriors who were responsible for bringing music and its instruments and products into the lives of literally countless people. 1, January: ILL SEE YOU AT THE SHOW 2, NAMM: Call me after the show 3. February:I bought at the show 4, March:I’m almost out of the inventory I bought at the show Ill replace it with your stuff 5, April: It’s tax time nobody has any money. 6. May: I want to see whats new at the show 7. June: ILL SEE YOU AT THE SHOW 8. NAMM: Call me after the show 9. August: It’s summer EVERYONE’s on vacation 10.September: Kids are all going back to school “BUYING FREEZE” until Oct. 11. October: This is our BIG CHANCE the month they HAVE to buy something SPRING MIGHTY TIGER SPRING What do ya have.. that I can retail for $99.00…send me six… and we’ll “see how it goes..” 13. November: The 6 pieces I ordered last month just got here 3 days ago! 14. December: “Whadda ya crazy calling me now IT’S CHRISTMAS!” AND ONCE AGAIN JANUARY: ILL SEE YOU AT THE SHOW! I dont think things have changed too much over the last 15 or so years. :) M
