Finally was able to have the weather cooperate enough to get some traps in the ground yesterday. Only able to put 18 traps out. Today we were going to set another 2 dozen but plans changed. We were having a great morning after catching a small raccoon and a nice otter. But then we started checking the coyote traps. We had made a catch but a criminal beat us to it. We found fresh tracks where someone was trespassing, drove up on a four wheeler, shot our catch, stole our animal, then left. DNR sent the game warden. The DNR is investigating and I am hoping they catch the person that stole from us. Thats trespassing, disturbing a lawfully set trap, and misdemeanor theft by taking. Lets see what happens...
