Finally watched the third episode of Sherlock season 3 last night (spoiler alert if you havent). I have to have a rant about it as I cant believe they just had him shoot Magnussen, so much for the game is on, well you lost that one Sherlock. I know theyre just trying to make the point he will do anything to protect John and Mary, but for me it was lazy. Would have been far better if he had sussed that Magnussen was using a mind palace and then throughout the episode had implanted Derren Brown style suggestions and at the end trapped Magnussen in his mind palace effectively leaving him unresponsive to the rest of the world. And while I am at it, we all expected Moriarty to return, but how many returns from the dead is there going to be? Season 2 ended brilliantly, but season 3 is on the edge of a rain soaked cliff, they better buck up their ideas for season 4.
