Finally went upriver for the first time since last fall. Had an unexpected tip-over riding as a passenger. We started sliding on glare ice and hit something that stopped the slide, but made the snowmachine tip and we got thrown off. Boy, did I ever bonk my head pretty hard on the ice! Im gonna have one aching body tomorrow. My ankle is swollen and cant put pressure on it. Funny thing is that it took hours before it started hurting real bad. Then all of a sudden, I couldnt take a step without pain. I lost about 20-30 minutes of memory riding from the place where we had the accident until I realized I was upriver and didnt know how I got there or where I was at. That was freaky. Mustve been from hitting the ice so hard on the back of my head. Anyways, the Health Aide on call checked me out when I got home. Aside from my ankle, I checked out okay. Just gotta have someone stay with me overnight in case any problems arise from my head injury. Aside from all that happening, it was beautiful upriver. Not much fish, but great to be out. Whenever I can walk better, Ill be back up there fishing when the weather permits.
