Finally, what if you have a sensitive child or early riser and cant shift the schedule in advance? Thats okay too. Wake up on Sunday morning and start making the gradual shift over the next two days. Keep your baby up 30 minutes longer than usual for the first nap and bedtime to make up for the extra hour. Repeat that schedule on Monday. Then on Tuesday jump to the new clock schedule. So if your child usually wakes at 7, naps at 12, and goes to bed at 7 it would look like this on the new clock: Sunday & Monday wake at 6, nap at 11:30, bed at 6:30. On Tuesday shift back to 7-12-7. Keep in mind that change is harder on less adaptable children as well as ones who are already overtired. Prepare for a few funky days and go easy on yourself and your little one :)
