Finance Controller Cape Town International Convention Centre - Cape Town, Western Cape Finance Controller (Ref: 03/2015) The Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) is so much more than just another convention centre. The main purpose: The position’s key responsibilities include the accurate preparation and reporting of monthly financial reports in the areas of inventory and fixed assets as well as the Cash control systems during functions. Reporting to the: Financial Manager Key responsibilities will include: Responsible for fixed asset register management and depreciation calculations Responsible for inventory and costing administration Analysing and maintaining records of various stock holdings Assisting the Financial Manager in preparing budgets Completion of the cost overheads forecast Cost control and allocation to functional areas Daily/weekly and monthly cost reports compilation and reporting Project analysis and evaluation, and cost management thereof Monthly GL Accounts reconciliation (including fixed assets and Inventory) Proactively identify improvements for streamlining the work process Variance analysis monthly of actual costs against prior forecast and budget Participate in special accounting/administrative projects as required Qualifications Required: B.Com (Accounting) with at least 2 years’ experience in a financial environment. Experience in a cost management and financial environment would be advantageous. Strong computer literacy with advanced skills in Excel, EBMS (or similar ERP systems) Personal Attributes: Goal orientated - Must be able to prioritise work deliverables in a creative environment A strong participative team member, adaptable to a dynamic and demanding environment but able to work independently and logically Ability to multitask Quick learner Integrity and trust - Absolute integrity and ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information. Must be a self-starter, motivated and energetic Passion for numbers and problem solving Drive for results Disciplined and determined Action orientated Practical Innovative/ Creative Interpersonal savvy Helpfulness Assertiveness We seek a disciplined, well-organized candidate with an aptitude for figures who is pro-active and has the ability to take ownership of the responsibilities of this position. He/she must be able to communicate in a clear and proactive manner and must be able to respond to special requests in a professional and timeous manner. The successful candidate must also have the ability to provide an internal service in compliance with company standards, be accurate and have the ability to meet stringent deadlines.
