Find contentment in your yoga practice and your life. Yoga on Mary Anns porch soon connecting to nature. Shiatsu spring yoga workshop Saturday at 90 Degrees Yoga in Greenville. Love, love.View this email in your browser Santosha is contentment. Patanjali, the great grandfather of yoga spoke of eight limbs of yoga. Within niyama, the second limb we cultivate certain behaviors. When we cultivate santosha there is a peace beyond our environmental circumstances. Despite what is happening externally we embody inner contentment and express outer peace towards all beings. Without santosha our lives become very dry and stale. We may be strong in our disciplines of non-violence, non-stealing, non-covetousness, chastity or moderation, truthfulness and living without the klesha or psychological imbalance of asmita or ego identificaiton. But without contentment our progress infusing these practices into our lives are not fully realized. The release of samskaras or past habits from incarnations can free us from much suffering. How do we do this? Try breathing. Be conscious of your breath in all actions, on the mat and off the mat. Pranayama or breath control can clear the debris of the body the way a good wind storm will clear the funk from islands of land. On your mats move with intention. Ask yourself while you practice who am I? and after the practice who have I become? I look forward to seeing your sweet smiling faces this week on your yoga mats. Exciting news!! Mary Ann has almost completed the renovation of her beautiful porch which she shares with us for our yoga practice ~ Also, this week on Saturday March 15th, we are switching the tides of luck and doing a healing workshop at 90 Degrees Yoga Studio on Pelham Rd. in Greenville, SC.
