Finished Dark Souls yeah I know kinda late well I am late in a lot of games but anyways heres my review of it: Pros: Excellent game mechanic, Challenging, Addictive, Unlike a lot of other challenging games this one most mistakes is not the games fault but player error, Boss fights are very well done soo well that it basically makes the game, pretty good RPG mechanics, Artwork/Models/Levels are graphically well done with gorgeous views, and soundtrack is amazing each boss soundtrack I personally loved. Also great character builds it makes a lot of enjoyment seeing your character improve more and more and the PVP/Co-Op is very fun and you can enjoy a lot of moments in that but also its a flaw so see cons what I had to say about it. Cons: A medium flaw is that the story is very well done but you have to actually read upon it through different sources and you barely get anything out of cutscenes and dialogue many times you just wonder why you here and what the hell is just going in the game have to really take initiative to understand the whole story of Dark Souls basically become a fan before you become a fan if that makes any sense. The Dialogue is good when there is actually dialogue so a small flaw of lack of dialogue. One major con is that the game directive is quite bad what I mean is game designers always put in a clue or a hint or something to make sure you on the right trail so you basically wont be going in circles going WHERE DO I GO! Yes there are messages written by other players but those are by other players and not the game designers itself which most of them are trolls like jumping off a cliff or need humanity be wary of left/right be wary of gorgeous view. Not really any helpful hints where to go and with no game direction you dont even know which boss you should fight or what to do or its just you get stuck going where do I go and what to do. I get that the point was to make players explore more than just go into a single line but they basically force you to become confused like there is literally times where you have to go on some kinda crystal to go on the right path and without the use of a guide or anything you would not even notice that until actually going hmm wonder if I can walk on this very thin crystal ohhh okay and there isnt an order like you dont know if you should be in this area or if you should kill this boss before killing this other boss without a use of a guide. Basically with the bad game directive cant really get a true experience without the use of a guide I do like the idea of making players explore more but you dont have to force them to do it it just frustrates them more and yeah this game is suppose to frustrate you but that is just a not need frustration if that makes any sense. My con about Multiplayer is that its easily hacked I mean yeah you get that in many games and its not really the games fault more like asshole players but just annoying that you go invade and someone who hacks their stuff kills you in one hit making the game basically un-fun wont count this against the grade. On a side note the frustration and anger is also a con but I wont hold that against the grading system because From Software wanted players to get frustrated and angry. I gave this game an 8.5 out of 10. I was about to give it a 9 or 9.5 but there is one flaw in particular that could have been fixed to make it a perfect or near perfect game. I recommend this game you can spend many hours on it and I say it should be a buy and a great game for your collection. Only one major flaw game directive is bad but with use of guides and youtube you can easily counter it and each build you make you would love and probably play the game again doing different builds.
