Finished designing and testing a visual low voltage alarm today. The final product (installed between the rear booms of this quad), has 6 bright white LEDs, and is for 3S LiPo packs. LEDs stay on solid, and start flashing once pack voltage falls below 9.90-10.35 (user selectable range) threshold. Voltage is calculated using a 5 second rolling window with 25 data points, to prevent false low battery indication during high current draw bursts. When you first connect it, it flashes 3 times if battery is above 11.85 volts, to indicate youve connected a full battery. I used an ATTiny85 microcontroller, and wrote the software from scratch. ESC power reduction crashes....now a thing of the past!
