Finished my laundry...had to temporarily put it on hold to attend the General PTA Assembly of the boys. When the topic about the up and coming out-of-town activity was raised in the Homeroom PTA, I couldnt help but bring to the floor my concern over the issue on the waiver being signed by the parents. My concern was, as partners in ensuring the growth and development of our children, the welfare and well-being of the students becomes a shared responsibility between the school and the parents such that when our children are in school and in off-campus school-initiated activities there comes with it accountability. We allow our children to attend even off-campus activities because I would like to believe that these are opportunities for our children to exercise a degree of independence, of putting into practice responsibility, obedience, respect for authority, and more thats why I allow them to attend. Im pretty sure that due diligence is being exercised by the authorities concerned and with that I do not understand the need to execute a waiver. We should jointly take responsibility.
