Finishing work on a house 30 feet from a fairly large church building. There are three homes and the church building on a large lot. Finished the last of the three houses today. Sometime between 10-11AM, the back door of my cargo work trailer was down, to provide quick access to the equipment. Just inside the door on the right rear corner I have racks made and large hooks where I hang my air hoses and two step ladders. My portable compressor is at the left rear corner. The end right hook is also where I hang my tool belt and pouches. Not needing to wear the pouches I took a few needed tools of or out of it, my tape and a couple of other things and went about my business. Upon completion I went to the trailer and noticed one of my air hoses was on the floor deck. Unusual I thought. I knew I had not put it there, perhaps my helper did. I looked at the right rear hook and noticed my work pouches were gone. I looked through the trailer, nothing, I walked around it, nothing; then I saw my wood chisel midway between the truck and the church laying on the parking lot. Looked around some more, found a couple of screws and my two pencils on the pavement as well. All of the items were pointing in a southeasterly direction away from the truck and trailer. Well all totaled, a thief got me for about $300.00. Didnt touch the miter saw directly under the rack hook, left all of my cordless equipment alone, everything else was intact. Only the pouches and the hand tools were missing. One would have thought we were working on hallowed ground or at least near it. This is a first for me. So the police have a report. I do know the people at a close pawn shop. Think I will talk to them tomorrow and tell them to be watching for it. I have other pouch combinations just this one was my favorite and a gift from one of my boys.
