Fire Devastates Mid Hudson Animal Aid Cat Sanctuary On Saturday, September 14th, a fire swept through the Isolation ward of the Mid-Hudson Animal Aid Cat Sanctuary. 8 cats died of smoke inhalation while 3 cats were rushed to Hudson Highlands Veterinary Medical Group and listed in critical condition. Thankfully, the amazing MHAA staff were able to rescue over 160 of their feline residents. Information on how you can help is below. We will be in need of temporary foster care homes. Donations of needed items: primarily wet cat food, and towels, dry cat food, litter, cleaning supplies can be delivered to two temporary drop-off locations currently being used: 18 Slocum Road and 35 Boyce Street, both in Beacon.
