Fire crews are on scene of a wildfire located in the Escalante - TopicsExpress

Fire crews are on scene of a wildfire located in the Escalante State Wildlife Area. The Cactus Gulch Fire is approximately 1.5 acres at this time. Access to the fire is difficult, as it is located in the river bottom. The fire is bound by the river and cliffs; and therefore has limited growth potential. However, smoke may be visible in the area throughout the day and possibly tomorrow, as crews work to safely contain the fire. There are no threats to life or property at this time. One BLM engine is on scene, and one DFPC engine is en route. Updates for the Cactus Gulch Fire will be posted as significant changes occur.
