Praised for her abstract lyricism, curious song structures, and entrancing live shows, McKisko’s first album ‘Glorio’ was released in 2009 to critical acclaim. She was invited to provide live accompaniment to the German Expressionist film ‘Hintertreppe’ at the Gallery of Modern Art, and was awarded the Grant McLennan Fellowship for excellence in song writing, providing her with time to develop her music abroad in Berlin. She has shared the bill with Tiny Vipers, Juana Molina, Jose Gonzales, Bon Iver and J. Mascis among others. The last few years have seen her performing through Australia and Europe, most recently with drummer/multi instrumentalist Kurt Read. She released the first of a series of seven inches titled ‘Good Grief’ in October 2011 and in 2012, returned to GOMA to compose for and accompany two silent films on the gallery’s Wurlitzer organ as part of the ‘Contemporary Australia: Women’ exhibition. McKisko’s second album, the slow and expansive ‘Eximo’, was released on vinyl in October 2013 through El Nino El Nino Records.
